'Sapphire' is a sky blue cultivar, 'White Diamond' has white flowers and is more compact than the species.
Prune back as soon as it finishes blooming.

Blooming Habits:
The Perennial Flax has masses of sky blue to white, 5-petaled flowers, 1 to 2 inches in diameter (2.5-5 cm), in drooping branches at the tip of each stem, opening for one day, closing in the evening, during most of the summer.

Propagation:
The seeds germinate in 2 to 4 weeks at 68°F to 75°F (20°C to 24°C), but the plants typically don't bloom until the second year.
