Most nurseries carry dwarf varieties in various colors including scarlet, purple, orange, lavender and yellow. Remove old flower spikes to encourage repeated flowering. Hummingbirds are attracted by flowers

Propagation:
Sow indoor at 70 to 85°F (21 to 29°C). Plant 8 weeks old seedlings 10 inches apart (25 cm).
