The real geraniums are not to be confused with the 'Garden Geranium' which has been moved to the genus Pelargonium (a long time ago, actually). Real geraniums are dainty, unshowy plants, mostly with simple flowers, blooming in summer. Their flowers are fragile, and are not good cut flowers.

Cultural Practices:
They tend to produce too much growth in soil that are too fertile, so average soils are better.
