Growth Habits: Deciduous large tree, 50 to 70 feet tall (15-21 m), 60 feet spread (18 m); trunk 2-3 feet in diameter (60-90 cm); gray flaky bark, sometimes heavily furrowed when old; 5 to 9-lobed leaves, dark green on top, whitish green underside, 3 to 7 inches long (8-17 cm), fall color is variable
