Thelocactus The genus Thelocactus contains a dozen variety of mostly Mexican cacti relative to Ferocactus. The main difference with Ferocactus is the presence of tubercles instead of ribs. Thelocactus are generally solitary, but some varieties will cluster. Thelocactus have generally large flowers appearing intermittently during the summer.
