Growth Habits: Deciduous tree or shrub, growing slowly to moderately fast, up to 20 to 30 feet tall and wide (6-9 m); opposite odd-pinnately compound leaves with 5 to 11 glossy oval leaflets; petioles not winged; strong smell of resin.

Watering Needs: Moderate to little water when established, needs good drainage

Propagation: Seeds (pretreated in boiling water), layering

The Terebinth was used to produce the Chian turpentine.

Blooming Habits:
The terebinth is dioecious, meaning that there are female trees and male trees. The fruits appear on female tree only if there are male trees in the vicinity. The fruits are bright red, becoming brown in winter.

Propagation:
The terebinth has reddish flowers in large panicles, in late spring.
