The flowers are papery, rather clover like. They can easily be dried for floral arrangements, hang them head down in a dry shaded area, or air-dry them. Leaves are spear shaped.
Gnome purple is a dwarf variety, 6 inches tall, plant 10 inches apart (25 cm).

Blooming Habits:
Flower heads are from 0.25 to 1 inch in diameter (0.6 to 2.5 cm). They can be dried for arrangements and pot-pourris

Propagation:
Seeds tend to have limited shelf life, use fresh seeds for better results. Sow them indoor in February at 70 to 85°F (21 to 29°C), they germinate in 1 week at 75°F (24°C). The seedlings can then be grown at lower temperatures. Plant 6 week old plants 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost date, 8-10 inch apart (20-25 cm). Globe amaranths need a warm soil to grow properly.
